Learn to make your own gently gathered, drawstring trousers with slanted side pockets and false fly. This is a special edition class featuring a Merchant and Mills pattern! You can make any of the three versions below. This class is spread over 1.5 days. You will need to provide your own fabric and matching thread (fabric suggestions provided upon booking) All other equipments and trims are provided.

Day 1 - Sunday 27th July 10 am-4 pm
Day 2 - Friday 1st Aug 6 pm -9 pm

Version 2: Cropped Tapered
Version 3: Shorts
Level: Confident Beginner – Must be able to set up and use machine with minimal assistance. If you are not there yet, I recommend attending a beginners project and possibly some open sewing classes to gain confidence first. any doubts feel free to message me :)
Pattern alteration – If you would like to alter the pattern in advance to the class, please contact me and we can book you on to a Thursday £20 session where we can review your specific amendments. The pattern provided has a long leg length so if this is the only pattern alteration you require, we can do this easily on Day 1. Any further alterations will need to be done in advance to ensure we maximise sewing time on the day.
What you will learn:
- How to lengthen or shorten your leg length if required.
- How to follow a lay plan to place and cut your pattern using all the pattern instructions and markings
- How to construct a slanted side pocket and false fly
- How to use your notches to accuratly sew seams and how to ease seams.
- How to complete a 4 step button hole ( for drawstring)
- How to construct an elasticated waist band including using a stitch in the ditch
- How to hem your trousers
